Our Projects
Education Grants and Critical Needs for Foster Youth in 4-year College
We established enduring and successful partnerships with four Universities to provide educational and critical need grants to foster youth attending one of this universities

PSF has provided academic criteria that is applied by the scholarship committees at the universities to award the scholarship on an annual basis. If a grantee maintains the academic standard, then automatically get the grant for the following year. This provides incentive to students to stay in school and do well. We need to your support to expanding our collaboration with other universities in US to reach more foster youth.
High School Grant
Many foster do not even apply to 4-year colleges as they find costs very high and have limited guidance in helping them manuer the college application process. PSF provides grant to high school foster youth towards their college tuition giving them incentive to apply for colleges.
Legislative Actions
PSF is engaged in supporting legislative initiatives to support free education and improved funding for foster youth in California. Foster youth needs are large whichh requires collaboration with non-profits, universities and legislature to create conditions for foster youth to succeed and break the cycle of homelessness, financial insecurity and food insecurity.
Special Projects
PSF actively supports creating new initiatives based on current needs (e.g capital projects, foster youth impacted by COVID or forrest fire etc). Currently, we have a SPOT Grant program to meet urgent needs that are not covered by financial aid.
