In early December 2016, Power to Soar Foundation joined forces with Google for Google’s third annual Global Giving Week. During this week, donations from Google employees were matched by Alphabet, the parent company of Google.
This effort was coordinated by board member Jonathan Newman via his employment at Google, where he nominated Power to Soar Foundation as a candidate for participation in Giving Week.
Board president Vimal Srivastava completed the application, and we were awarded an information table in the YouTube employee cafeteria (owned by Google) on December 6, 2016 where Power to Soar Foundation’s Executive Director, Andrea Srivastava and board member, Nadine Suto, helped spread the word about our mission. Seawolf Scholars program director, Danielle Hansen also joined us, sharing testimonials on how Power to Soar Foundation grants were making a difference in the lives of foster youth at Sonoma State.
